Imagine driving along picturesquely curved streets, through wine fields and small French villages. After half an hour you arrive at a beautiful chateau on a hill, sit outide with some wine and cheese and watch the sunset over the never-ending park you know Claude Monet must have found his calling. Can you hear the birds singing? Ok, now you’re with me. And the best news – you can actually book a room at this chateau via airbnb near Dijon. How amazing is that?

Binational weddings are for sure a big passion of mine. My multicultural identity problems might be a reason for this and I’m happy to share them with many of my clients. 🙂

Anna and Tomáš met in Prague and had a happy ending to their long distance relationship between the Czech Republic and Frankfurt when they said yes to each other at their civil ceremony at the Herrenhaus Gut Bliestorf in the beautiful North of Germany. Anna works for an airline and is constantly on the move. So, Tomáš proposed when she picked him up once (this is so romantic!) at the airport. Maybe naturally, I met both of them for the first time in Munich, at the airport, between connecting flights and their story makes me think of the opening monologue from the movie “Love actually” and why we all somehow love the arrival gates.

Luisa is damn right.

“…el trabajo lo puedes encontrar en cualquier sitio, puedes cambiarlo y no pasa nada. Pero cuando conoces el amor de tu vida… no puedes dejarlo escapar.”

“You can find a job in any place, you can change it and it´s ok. But when you meet the love of your life, you should never let it escape.” Javi and Luisa are both from Málaga but moved to San Francisco right after their wedding. A new beginning. But not before a proper party.

Oh, the South of Spain! I used to call it home for a little while. In fact Andalucía is like my third home. I love everything about the Spanish culture. The music. The food. The language. The big smiles and open hearts of the Spanish people. It has always been my dream to photograph a real Spanish wedding and I´m over the moon it finally happened last month.

Luísa, Javi, vuestras familias, Jesus, Vanessa, gracias por vuestra hospitalidad y confianza en mi! Os deseo que seáis muy felices y espero veros de nuevo algún día, ojalá pronto en algún lugar de este mundo.

The first time I met Janice and Patrick one year ago at his sister´s wedding, I didn´t know:

1. they were engaged
2. they would let me photograph their wedding…
3. they had so many best friends who would come all the way from Singapore and Indonesia to celebrate with them

And how many days do we have with them and our families, all in one place, ~~well dressed and with no permission to complain about the weather but find a million reasons why it´s just great when it rains today~~. Together, to share the big moments. Jan and Pat, you are blessed to have all these people in your lives. Keep your love for one another and for them. And kick ass at wedding no. 2 in Bali!!!
